Conturelle lingerie is made of synthetic fibres, as these fibres are the most comfortable to wear.
Synthetic fibres like elastane, polyamide and polyester have many advantages. They enhance lingerie with
- easy-care and
- crease-resistant properties.
You should choose a gentle cycle for delicate lingerie – or even wash it by hand. White laundry should be washed separately from colour laundry to preserve its whiteness for as long as possible.
Liquid mild detergents or detergents for colour textiles are gentle to fibres and keep colours fresh. At lower temperatures they dissolve better in water than a powder and therefore do not cling to the fine pores of the fabrics. All-purpose detergents should only be used for white laundry due to the brighteners and bleaches they contain.
Use mesh bags to avoid damage to your lingerie by other pieces of clothing. In addition, this protects bra underwiring and prevents it from coming out in the wash.
You should not use fabric softener for lingerie. It may attack elastane fibres contained in delicate, elastic fabrics, which may affect the fit of lingerie.
It is best to wash lingerie directly after wearing, as sweat may attack the fine elastane fibres and cause lingerie to lose its shape.
